BLS and the IHK organize the South Tyrol Forum in Munich
More and more southern German companies are developing an interest in entering the Italian market. In order to facilitate this entry and to better acquaint them with the benefits South Tyrol offers as a business location in Italy, Business Location Südtirol (BLS) organised the South Tyrol Forum in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Munich and Upper Bavaria. The interest in receiving advice was substantial: more than 70 participants accepted their invitation to the Künstlerhaus in Munich.
Why is South Tyrol an ideal business location for German companies planning to enter the Italian market? Why is South Tyrol particularly interesting for research companies? Why is it the right place for specialists in renewable energy and energy efficiency? BLS Director Ulrich Stofner, Petra Seppi, who is the head of business development for BLS, and Italian legal and tax experts answered these and many other questions at the South Tyrol Forum in Munich.
“We see that German companies very much appreciate South Tyrol because of its locational advantages. They know that the region’s bilingual professionals, comprehensive support and attractive funding opportunities are things upon which they can rely,” BLS Director Ulrich Stofner said, shedding light on a growing interest amongst German companies in South Tyrol as a business location. Many German companies have, with the help of BLS, settled in South Tyrol in recent years; many of these are in the field of green energy, a sector in which South Tyrol has a great deal of know-how.
The German company GIFAS, whose business is the distribution of electricity and lighting with a focus on energy efficiency, is thus now located in Bolzano. “Another green sector player is Pluggit, a Munich-based company and pan-European expert on ventilation. Agnion, a German pioneer in the field of converting solid biomass into electricity and heat, has also been in South Tyrol for a short time,” said Stofner. The German company Spartherm, which is engaged in sustainable heating, has joined together with Arcadia, a Bolzano tile stove manufacturer. “We are delighted that so many companies from the green energy sector have decided to settle in South Tyrol,” says the BLS director. “This underscores our role as a Italy’s Green Region, and further deepens South Tyrol’s know-how in this sector."
